Hackstat’s current limits, in plain language
Saved research works offline. Collection needs a connection. Automatic checks run on your Mac; they don’t continue while it’s asleep or the app is closed, and missed days are not backfilled.
Results have source limits. Apple checks scan up to 200 returned apps; Google Play checks use the first organic results page. Discovery checks up to 16 listing-derived candidates per run. Saved custom terms are checked separately. Store rate limits can affect collection.
Metrics need context. Public-source positions may differ from a personalized store search. The optional Google autocomplete score is not App Store search volume. Hackstat does not provide keyword difficulty, download or revenue estimates.
Review and export your work. Metadata tools currently view, copy and count listing text. Publishing to the stores, automatic translation, CSV import and PDF export are not included. Local audits check listing completeness; they do not predict installs.
The Mac installer is available. After payment confirmation, your email includes a license key and installer link; you can also download from your private order page. The separate website demo uses sample data and includes a draft editor for preview.

Why I’m building a cloudless home for your ASO research.
Meet HackstatGood questions.
Straight answers.
The details to know before you make yourself at home.
What is Hackstat?
Hackstat is a cloudless ASO workspace for Mac. Research public App Store and Google Play listings, track keyword positions, compare competitors, review metadata, and export CSV reports. Your research is stored locally.
What does cloudless mean?
Your research workspace lives on your Mac. You can review saved apps, keyword observations, history and listing audits offline. Fresh store searches and ranking checks need internet. Purchase, license email, activation and license verification also use online services.
What can I do without an internet connection?
After activation, you can review saved listings, keyword data, ranking history and competitor comparisons, run local listing audits, and export saved data. Fresh store lookups require internet. Scheduled checks need the app running and your Mac awake; missed checks are not backfilled.
How is Hackstat different from Astro?
Both are Mac apps with local research storage. Astro advertises $108 billed annually, unlimited apps and keywords, Apple Search Ads popularity, and keyword difficulty. Hackstat uses a one-time license with public-store research, local tracking and CSV exports. It does not provide App Store search volume or keyword difficulty. See the comparison above for current prices, sources and limits.
Which Macs does Hackstat support?
Hackstat is built for macOS. Contact hi@hackstat.app if you need help confirming compatibility with your Mac before purchasing.
How does the launch price increase?
The first 100 purchases are $10 each. Purchases 101–200 are $30 each, and 201–300 are $50 each. The price then increases by $20 after every 100 purchases. Each license is a one-time payment for one Mac, sold by Hackstat’s operator. Your final total, including any applicable tax, is shown in Stripe Checkout.
How do I activate my license?
After your payment is confirmed, your license key and Mac installer link are sent to the email used at checkout. You can also download the installer from your private order page. Open Hackstat on the Mac you want to license, connect to the internet, and enter your key to activate it. Your saved workspace then works offline.
Can I try it before buying?
Yes. The interactive preview on this page has sample apps and keyword data. You can switch apps, sort keywords, compare competitors, export a CSV, and edit metadata without an account.
Where does the demo save my data?
The demo uses fictional apps and sample metrics. Metadata drafts are saved in your browser’s local storage only when you select Save locally. The demo does not connect to your App Store account. The website uses Google Analytics to measure visits and interactions; we do not send draft contents through custom analytics events. See the privacy page for details.
